The
Fireflies are a militia group that rebel and revolt against the
military of quarantine zones and are the key in saving the human race within my favorite game, "The Last Of Us".
My thoughts on one of my favorite games "The Last of Us"
The Last of Us is a survival horror game exclusive to PlayStation that takes place during a zombie-type apocalypse. A mutated fungal virus, known as Cordyceps, sweeps through America turning it's people into cannibalistic zombies so it can spread more of the fungus spores.
The story follows Joel and a young girl called Ellie as they travel across a post apocalyptic America while trying to survive the infectious diseases in an attempt to deliver Ellie to the Fireflies as she holds answers for a cure.
Through this very immersive story, the characters come across many enemies, both human, and infected which you must battle your way across the country, trying everything in your power just to survive long enough to find the cure.
What
I love about this game is the story-driven mechanics and gameplay that
suck you straight into the world of post-apocalyptic America. It has so
many tear-jerking moments and you get a sense of authenticity with how
well the characters are portrayed but also how well the story is written. We
watch the characters grow and change, from hating and killing each other
to doing everything to keep the other safe.
Another
detail I loved about the game is that they use a real fungal infection
that takes over the mind of insects and then uses them to spread the
fungus throughout the insect's colonies. It makes the gameplay more
believable and not just a fantasy.
